Learn how the Daytona Tortugas are becoming an integral part of the Volusia County community during the Thursday, March 16, meeting of the Volusia/Flagler Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association.

Daytona Tortugas President Ryan Keur will share how the team is “Creating a Community Relations Culture” during the organization’s monthly luncheon. Under Keur’s leadership, the Daytona Tortugas have launched a variety of community-based initiatives, including the new Tortugas Care Charity Foundation. He will discuss the importance of community to the team and offer tips on ways organizations can develop strong relationships in the communities they serve.

Keur joined the Tortugas last October after three seasons as the Burlington (N.C.) Royals general manager. In Burlington, Keur worked closely with the city to oversee several stadium improvements projects. Additionally, attendance and revenue reached all-time highs during his six seasons with the team.

The luncheon meeting is open to public relations professionals, business people and the public and will be held at LPGA International, 1000 Champions Drive, Daytona Beach. Check-in and networking begin at 11:30 a.m., and the program starts at noon.

The cost, which includes lunch, is $20 for FPRA members, $25 for non-members and $18 for college students. Public is welcome. To RSVP, visit FPRAVF.org.
