Event Description: Main Street Station will present it’s 5th Annual Back to the Roots events, February 19 to 21st, celebrating the history of racing. Activities are held at the old gas station once owned by "Big" Bill France Sr. and include fund raising efforts for the Shriners and local charitable organizations. Sunday, February 19, "Race Talk" is a racing roundtable storytelling session with legendary racing personalities. Racing art and booking signings will also be a part of the event. Monday, February 20, features a car show on Main Street with current and replica race cars and motorcycles. Starting at 2 p.m. registration begins for the David Ragan’s Shriners Children's Hospital Auction featuring Storage Wars Star Don Rinehart. The auction will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Dinners will be for sale by Backyard Boys BBQ and there will be a free autograph session with racing legends. At 5 p.m., NASCAR announcer, Ozzie Altman will introduce racing stars as part of a Red Carpet Walk adding twenty bricks to a Racing Walk of Fame honoring racing legends. Also enjoy live music starting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, February 21, Buz McKim, NASCAR Hall of Fame Historian, will be the emcee at the 2017 Annual Marvin Panch Awards Brunch starting at 10 a.m. Awards will be presented in honor of racing history. Tickets for this event are available for $25 and include Aunt Catfish Catering. A collectible program will also be included in the price with additional copies available for sale together with Back to the Roots tee shirts.
