About the Business
On the shores of one of the only pedestrian beaches in Daytona Beach, Wyndham Ocean Walk offers spacious one-, two-, three-bedroom and penthouse resort suites that comfortably sleep four to ten guests in 500 - 1,455 square feet. Suites feature partial or full kitchens, private bedrooms and separate living/dining areas. Many include a washer/dryer, balcony and whirlpool tub. Resort fun includes four pools, a lazy river, water slide, fitness center, miniature golf, game room and activities center.

Yes, anytime before Labor Day would be considered "summer vacation" season.

We stayed 3 days, party of 5. Plugs all over the room did not work. Hot water only from the tub worked, but every other faucet did not run hot water, but warm. Shitty view from our side of the building. The smell of gas was in the air. Our band mates had a much better suite with a beautiful view of the city. I did like the big pool. I loved the beach. Powder like soft sugar. The "river" near the pool was drained. Not that I wpuld SIM in it. I call those "per rivers" for kids.
They make you come back to their sales people downstairs in 24 hours so they can give you a wrist band key. Your plastic key stops working. This, my friends, is a ploy so they can do their sales pitch. The last time we got stuck in a room with one of their salesmen, we bought property. We were talked into getting that Visa Rewards joke. Folks just say "no" to everything they offer you. And take a look at the lawsuits on Google. And take a look at The Better Business Bureau. Over a thousand complaints over salesmen/ women lying. Upon checking into Room 1302 run by Cindy and Joe Gurtza. We found the washer like this. It was closed and moist - when I opened it the whole unit smelled with mold! My son is allergic to mold.
This lady came with some cleaning spray and paper towels trying to clean this up. My husband told her that wasn't going to work and we needed another unit. Because it's spring break she was sold out and couldn't move us. She agreed to a full refund. She got mad when I asked her if the sheets and towels from the unit were washed in that machine. Seriously wondering if she expected people to sleep on sheets and use towels that were washed in that machine. She promised a full refund but I had a funny feeling. So I started filming... She is now not wanting to give us a full refund because she doesn't want us to make a negative review. Like withholding my refund after I already had to book another room is going to decrease the chances I won't blast this everywhere I can.
Well Cindy and Joe Grutza are the worst hosts I've ever experienced! They run Daytona Ocean Rentals at Daytona Ocean Walk ...they operate multiple units- this was unit 1302 and with VRBO

Now she's changing her story again saying she doesn't want to refund us because "this isn't mold!! Mold isn't slimy. She's claiming I screamed at her when you can clearly see her come towards me being aggressive when I'm filming. And finally she's added the washer was wet because when I checked in with all clean clothes and luggage- I instantly did a load of laundry.
I've done a chargeback with my credit card and I'm sure I will get my money back like she said on film... just a warning to others!

The service here is terrible. The workers are so rude!!! Especially at starbucks they need to be fired. I tried to order a refresher and the worker cut me off mid order, just to tell me they're out of all refreshers. I then asked nicely what they still had because they were out of other items and she very rudely told me "the menu's right there". The people are so obnoxious and need to know how to treat their customers. Service was terrible her. Not going back ever!!

Rosen facilities are very clean here although they apparently released some kind of aerosol deodorizer is it clings to your skin and you will taste chemicals on your lips later, just from passing through the lobby. There is easy access to the boardwalk and beach from the property and the location is great. The pool in lazy river pretty nice but you have to get outside by about 7:30 AM or you will not have a chair to sit in. Literally, there are hundreds of chairs by 8 AM that are reserved by people placing their towels on them although they won't show up to the chair for hours and hours and hours. I would say that is more of a review of the typical guest here but the property really has no interest in enforcing the rules they say (see picture).

Amazing go her every year for vacation and sometimes more than once. Best place to spend your vacation at, lay bye the pool, go on the beach, play in the arcade, best place for you and me. Would recommend going here

I've stayed in Wyndhams all over the US. This is my least favorite one. Mainly because you have the gorgeous ocean and all the waves you COULD listen to if they didn't BLAST their music constantly. 8:30 am to atleast 10 pm music non stop. I was on the 15th floor... you'd think that would be high enough up to not have to jam out constantly but NO. I called to ask for a little quiet during the morning but they told me that's not how they do things here.

I'm shocked by the reviews. To be fair I stayed at an Airbnb in the hotel but used much of the hotel as a whole. So I'm sure he takes care of his unit differently. I am reviewing just the hotel since that's all I can say about the Wyndham. The pools (indoor and outdoor) were very well maintained. The bar staff was amazing and made great drinks. The hotel front desk and ALL staff was amazing. I def have to say there was a older black man who greated us through out the hotel with a huge smile at least 3x a day. He was so sweet. We went during Halloween.. cool activities they had a palm reader and a cute little hunt for kids.
This is super family friendly. I really loved it and everyone stay that I talked to really enjoyed it as well. We will be back. We are pretty local and we absolutely loved it. I wasn't expecting much, especially when my grown children arrived in their rooms before I did and gave me feedback about non working things, dirt, and hair in their rooms it is true that housekeeping is not a strong suit. The maintenance staff is also weak. My towel rack fell off the wall as I walked into the bathroom because it was not installed properly.
The room is somewhat updated with MeWe furnishings, yet the kitchen is from the 90's. The 90's as in the last century or last Millinium . Over all it's not bad, but far from being updated. The flooring, tile, carpet, cabinets, countertops, appliances, all need to be updated.
There is a sign by the door that says this is a privately owned condo so I am guessing they put in nice furniture but have not updated the unit. So I am not really sure how this place really works. Part timeshares, part private ownership, part hotel??????? It must be some combination of all three.
The checkin process is an absolute disaster. Five stops to get your key to the room.
1. Guest services - they don't really provide any services.
2. Parking ticket counter
3. Another kiosk to get passed on to another kiosk. This one is completely baffling.
4. Kiosk to get a wrist band so you can navigate around the property, but really it's just the sales people who hold you hostage to sell you a timeshare.
5. Back to the so called guest service desk to get room key.
If you are not normally inclined to commit murder, you may be after this maddening process. All designed to get you to buy a timeshare. To hell with you and your family's time, convenience, and desire to get settled in and start vacation.
My room overlooks the pool and beach. The beach is right out behind the pool area. Two big pools, a lazy river, and a nice splash pad, play area for kids. A nice pool bar area. All absolutely wonderful. On a Thursday afternoon there is plenty of room to spread out. I hope that remains true over the weekend.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

Well, let me start by saying that this Wyndham resort has wonderful amenities. A nice pool and hot tub, plus a great Lazy River float pool for kids. It's right on the beach, has a nice Tiki bar and a small coffee / food store. Our room was clean, well appointed, comfortable and a well equipped kitchen (although it was a little bothersome that every time the ice maker dumped a tray, it shut off and had to be manually reset). It would have been a great experience if it were not for an absolutely horrid check in.
Since we were visiting family nearby, we were hoping for an early check in, so arrived a little before 2:00 PM. We were pleasantly surprised when we were directed into the parking garage for check in. Since in the past check in meant standing in a lobby line for 45 minutes or more, we thought this was a great start. We were given a temporary garage pass and an envelope with some info and a phone number. We were told our room would be ready shortly and they would call or message our phone when our room was ready.
We parked then went a small patio just outside the lobby overlooking the pools. Another couple was there, also Wyndham owners, and had checked into their room about 1:00, they said. So we waited. And waited. And waited. After two hours (!!) I texted the number given on the status of our room. I was texted back that room would be ready shortly. Finally about 4:30 I was texted our rooms are ready, come to Guest Services desk.
Frustrated but glad to finally being able to check in, we went to Guest Services, but they told us we had to check in with Concierge first and get wristband and parking pass. So we went there and stood by waiting for someone to help us. Finally someone came for us, looked at the envelope and told us we needed to go to Guest Services. We explained, getting angry now, they sent us to them. Finally they took our information and started working on our check in, now after 5:00 PM.
Our information was entered into system and they said it would take a few minutes to set up our wristbands, which were our room keys and entrance to resort amenities. Meanwhile they needed a time to set us up for a 15 minute "owner information" session. Knowing from experience that this was a disguised pressure sales pitch. We explained we had several timeshares and were in the process of getting rid of them. But they became adamant that we should take advantage of the session. Then my wife, who NEVER gets angry, loudly stated "You do NOT want us in a session!". They reluctantly gave us our regular parking pass , wristbands and room number on the 5th floor. We had reserved two nights in a beachfront room.
So we go to car, tired and angry, switched from North garage to South garage and parked on 5th floor. No luggage cart in the area so we trudged to the far end of resort, me pulling suitcase, two CPAP machines and bags of soft drinks, shampoo, etc. We get to assigned room and the wristband key does not work! Hearing us at the door, the occupants open the door and explained they were checked in before 2:00 PM.
Even more angry now, I stayed by our bags while my wife went to Guest Services desk. After awhile she returned with new armbands and a 12th story room. It was, of course, at the end of resort and was not beachfront but beach view, but we were weary and wanted no more battles. It was now close to 7:00.
Definitely will NOT come here again! They did give us $60 in resort credits but that hardly made up for the frustrations we experienced.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

1. The room smells
2. Stains all Over the couch cushions
3. Massive paint job needed on balcony door
4. The special wrist bands didn't work for our room
5. The north side...hotel side...MUCH cleaner, better amenities....
6. For the insane price for the room, I would expect to have hotel care for our place. Yes it's a condo owned place but where is the responsibility held since the owners aren't here? It's gross!!!
We can't reply on here. Everyday it's something else. Let's add activities in the north side that we don't have access to as our wrist thing doesn't work, our room key doesn't open the north side to even your staff says the north side is better and that the south side isn't nearly as clean.
