| Duties: | Daytona Employment is currently recruiting for a Graphic Designer.
MAJOR FUNCTION
Responsible work involving the design, creating, and development of collaterals used to facilitate community information.
The preferred candidate will have demonstrated knowledge and skill in advanced graphic design and layout (e.g. Adobe C6, Design Suite, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, or Corel Draw).
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Able provide finished raw files and linked finished graphics in a PC environment.Able to provide offset-press ready Adobe Acrobat (.PDF) files that meet current company Graphic Design Standards.
Able to meet time sensitive deadlines and work under stressful conditions.Able to work independently without direct supervision. Demonstrated knowledge and skill in photo-editing, advanced graphic design and layout.Able to research subject for suitable illustrative material.Able to re-create photos into vector-based (.eps) illustrations. Able to create designs with an aesthetic appeal and professional look that meet current company Graphic Design Standards.Able to correct improper grammar and spelling mistakes. Able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships other staff.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess a valid driver’s license at time of appointment and possess and maintain a valid Florida driver’s license within 30 days of appointment.Graduation from high school or possession of a GED and (4) years experience in layout and graphic design work.
A comparable amount of education, training, or experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.
ADA REQUIREMENTS:
Physical Demands: Sedentary work. Visual acuity (peripheral vision, depth perception, color acuity) necessary to operate a motorized vehicle, and/or review and update graphics/websites) finger dexterity. Ability to bend, reach, grasp, and sit.
Environmental Demands: Inside work.
Mental Demands: Ability to read and comprehend technical and professional manuals, safety instructions, procedures, memos, and letters. Ability to perform shop math and geometry. Ability to write memos, captions, letters, instructions, and procedures. Ability to speak clearly and concisely. |
