My name is Mark Reed, a graduate of Daytona State College with an Associates of Applied Science degree in culinary arts and a Bachelors of Applied Science in management. In 2009, I started carving ice, which led me to participate in the 2015 World Ice Art Championship Multi Block competition and placed 5th in the world. Daytona Ice Art services areas of Daytona Beach, north of Jacksonville, south of Melbourne, and west of Deland. Daytona Ice Art is an industry leader in competitive pricing, dependability, quality, and customer service in ice sculpting.
Ice is sculpted in a wide range of temperatures, therefore the characteristics of the ice will change according to the temperature of the ice and the air around it. The clarity of the ice is caused by the freezing process, by which the freezing and circulation of water from the bottom up remove air. This process in completed in a machine called a Clinebell. Ice carvings can be abstract, realistic, functional, and or purely decorative.
